I like to keep things fresh, and in an effort to try something completely different, back in April I decided to dye my hair yellow. After all, I’d been every other colour under the sun, so I reckoned it was time to finally be the sunshine.

Being a huge fan of Manic Panic I chose their Electric Banana tone, firstly because of the colour’s hint of neon (fun), its lime tinge (double fun), its silly name (more fun) and lastly because of the dye’s glow-in-the-dark attribute – well OK, glow-under-UV/black light (but still, quadruple fun!). There was even an accompanying Electric Banana hair gel to enhance this final feature. Amazing. ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ indeedy…

Never one to go for one single shade on my hair, for my ends I used Crazy Color’s Canary Yellow: why use one yellow when you can use two?!

The timing was perfect as a trip to Disneyland Paris was imminent: what better way to make the magic a reality?

Maybe a tomboy can become a princess after all…but only if she wants to be!
