After an evening of catching up with friends and family on a Christmas Eve away from home, come the big day itself I wasn’t feeling like dressing up to the nines. Well, at least not first thing in the morning anyway.
Happily, I’d packed my Adidas Originals x Rita Ora tracksuit for just such situations, knowing that a cosy and comfortable, practical style statement would come in handy over the holidays.
After all, in the style stakes the Adidas x Rita Ora is pretty much the equivalent of a tracksuit tux, especially when you hoik the trousers up from your ankles to your calves so they look like plus-fours (bear with me on this one) and finish off the look with a great pair of heels.
So, with these seasonal red velvet Irregular Choice ‘Lemon Pips’ courts my husband gifted me the previous Christmas, unmade-up eyes hidden under heavy black-rimmed glasses and a slash of red Ruby Woo MAC lippy mixed with their less drying Lady Danger I was ready.

Happily x 2, my wonderfully understanding parents-in-law are used to my irreverent fashion, and safe in the knowledge I’d be wearing an eminently festive smart silver Reiss dress for lunch, they barely batted an eyelid when I entered the living room dressed up yet down at the same time.
I do love a good sartorial challenge, and putting the fun into functional is something I really enjoy. So get your tracksuits ready, there’s a new fashion movement in town: forget Sports Luxe, 2015 is all about the Sports Tux. You heard it here first.
