I passed these Jeremy Scott Adidas trainers in the window of a boutique sneaker store and thought, “They will be mine. Oh yes, they will be mine”. For these Wings had my name written all over them: unashamed brightness, animal print, colour pop laces, non-matching toes and general extreme lushness. Unfortunately, they also had a hefty £225 pricetag. Still, probably cheaper than anything from Scott’s Moschino collection!
Undeterred, I kept an eye on Jeremy Scott Wings on Ebay, and a couple of months later saw a ‘worn once’ pair of the little-but-loud beauties in my size. I may or may not have said the following once again:
And so they were mine – although not in the near-perfect condition I’d expected for a ‘worn once’ Ebay description (naive, moi?!).
I learned afterwards that the ‘one time’ they’d been worn was in central London while the seller indulged in some retail therapy for the day, so as a result the shoes had unexpectedly worn heels and inner soles and inner uppers. All I can say is that it must have been a relentless shopping trip/ marathon! Not nearly as boxfresh as I’d hoped, but nonetheless a result for £50.
Plus the Jeremy Scott Wings go really well with my pink Aryn K jacket here: I love surprising combinations of clothes, and with the Next Lift And Shape skinny jeans on my not-so-skinny frame and my goes-with-everything white ‘Iconic’ T from Day Birger Mikkelsen’s label 2ND Day (which has Pablo Picasso’s wonderful motto ‘Youth has no age’). I think I achieve this unlikely aim.
‘Youth has no age’ indeed…
I want these so bad
